Feature Project

Late 2012 The Lawn Butler Landscape and Hardscape divisions teamed up in the outskirts of east Knoxville for a back yard transformation. The home sits on a lot with a view that is rivaled by few in this area. With such a great view the homeowners needed an outdoor room from which to enjoy the view. We developed a plan for an outdoor pavilion that would provide plenty of room to enjoy a cup of coffee and scan the morning paper. We installed Unilock Rivenstone pavers under a beautifully designed structure that complimented the brick and shingles on the house. Next we gave the patio some depth by stepping down into a seating area wrapped with a Belgard Weston Wall seating wall and columns and used Belgard Urbana pavers.

To soften the edges a bit, we did a full landscape installation that framed the outdoor room to give the feeling of being separated but not detached from the surroundings. This project also has one of the only Beni Schichihenge Japanese Maples in the East Tennessee area. This type of Japanese Maple is very rare and had to be special ordered from a grower in Northern California. We topped off the project with a gorgeous water feature tucked into the hillside to add a nice, ambient sound.
